life, week 6
She does not cook a lot, but serves us lots and lots of coffee.
Usually it is Sølve's socks that are scattered around the apartment, but these are mine.
So, so glad we have a dishwasher yet I don't mind washing a few things by hand.
Daffodils. I think. Too early. I know.
Seeing the first snowdrops of the season is always a welcome sight, but seeing them in early February is just too early. The weather has been spring like for a while, but I'm certain we are not done with winter yet.
Mikado, or don't.
Waiting not so patiently for her parents to sit down for Sunday breakfast.
We all love pancakes and bacon.
The pumpkin soup was better than I remembered. Always nice to find a treat like this in the freezer.
Great mail day. Got instantly inspired to shoot film.
A favorite breakfast: Greek yoghurt, mixed nuts, blueberries and honey
summer house - check! plane tickets - check! rental car - check!
09:50 am Sunday morning, dreaming of coffee in bed - which was served a few minutes later, with additional drawing by Sara (and a little help from pappa) for mother's day

about this project
- every Monday I post the week's menu
- I also post what we actually had for dinner the passed week (because it is fun to see if we actually followed the plan)
- there might be links to recipes, but the menu will mostly just be basic ideas for the dinners - often just based on what ever is in our fridge, freezer and cupboards
- Saturday and Sunday dinners will often not be planned ahead because we have a habit of buying whatever looks good in the store when we are out grocery shopping Saturday morning
- - -
So, what are you planning to have for dinner this week?

things I like lately
| just a little bit of light that I love |
There was no things I like lately post last Friday because I was too busy traveling from Stord to Sandnes + having fun with family and friends in our hometown Sandnes. This week we are back to our everyday routines at home. I love everyday routines! I also love this Friday habit of sharing bits and pieces of things I like.
- being woken up by Sara singing Monday morning (usually she cries or shouts "mamma!")
- being woken up by Sara asking "kan jeg få mer tutta, mamma?" (can I have more pacifiers, mummy)
- it is getting noticeably lighter every day
- watching Gossip Girl again (guilty pleasure…)
- a weekend in our hometown Sandnes having a whole lot of fun with our fantastic friends (thanks so, so much to our parents for watching Sara)
- wearing my super warm parka whilst watching kids play outside in kindergarten (I did some substitute work)
- a little one year old darling fell asleep on my lap in kindergarten (more about that later)
- making tomato soup for the first time - Sara loved it! she even asked for a second serving
- drill & design (via NIB)
- Sølve's delicious meatballs for dinner - and there is still a whole lot left in the freezer
- issue no 13 of 3191 Quarterly
- snowdrops - although it is a bit early
- the first cup of coffee of the day - especially after rough nights with Sara
- fresh shrimp sandwiches for dinner Friday night - shrimps are so good now in the winter! (you Norwegians know about this kind of sandwich - if not, here is a great description)
- a sudden urge to shoot film - I have decided to shoot a whole roll this weekend
- eating a lot of fish for dinner lately
- summer holiday planning with our friends
- learning the ropes of teaching by doing substitute teaching - it is a steep learning curve
- making plans for my friend M's bachelorette party
What do you like lately?

Julia commented:
- I didn't know cream can be frozen. Do you use it in soup or sauces afterwards?
Yes, perfect for soups and sauces. The cream does not whip well after it has been frozen.

Pre dinner snack and Champagne in French settings for the girls, prinsesstårta with a summery view in Gamla Stan, drinks at Story hotel and a traditional Swedish dinner with a local theater celebrity. A few glimpses of our weekend in Stockholm back in September last year caught on film.

life, week 5
08:40 am | it is getting noticeably lighter every day
winter light in the am
It was a weekend of too much fun and too little sleep. It was worth it.

I can not remember the last time I took so few photos during a week. I did take more than the four above, but they are mostly not worth sharing. Too many photos of the sky and the fact that mornings and evenings are brighter + dull daily photos of what I had for dinner (already posted yesterday). Hopefully this week will bring better photo mojo.
