a photo an hour

- as seen though my iPhone/VCSO Cam on Thursday August 7.

8 am: After several not so good nights, we all finally had a good night's sleep. Sara was happy and rested, but she was not so keen on going to kindergarten. There were tears (again) when I left her there.

9 am: Sølve was running late for a meeting, so I drove him to the office.

10 am: A second cup of coffee plus an old D2 article about the national tourist routes in Norway. Such a great project!

11 am: Tomato sauce for tonight's lasagne and as a house warming gift for a dear friend.

Noon: Enjoying the calm before the storm that is new job, moving, renovations etc. Enjoying the last days in our Bergen apartment.

1 pm: Finished a couple of old D2 whilst eating lunch (grilled ham and cheese sandwiches) on the daybed.

2 pm: My in-laws are stopping by with their car and a trailer during the weekend, so time to pack more of our belongings into boxes. Most cabinets are pretty empty now.

3 pm: Ice cream break with a rainy view.

4 pm: Picked up Sara at the kindergarten. She ate the yoghurt and grapes but not the sandwich.

5 pm: Dinner time; homemade lasagna and a salad made of what ever I found in the fridge (canned corn, celery, radishes, spring onion, yellow bell pepper and cucumber).

6 pm: Such a wet and grey day.

7 pm: Off to visit Hanne. I had such a hard time finding her house (which really isn't that hard to find). My inner GPS totally malfunctioned.

8 pm: Hannes house is completely new, and already she has filled it with her cozy, comfortable, relaxed style. Also, homemade bacon and leek pie - yummy yum!

9 pm: She told me about her dream of building a daybed in the window. It is a winning idea.

10 pm: Then there was ice cream (we share a passion for Mövenpick Swiss Chocolate), fruit, chocolate sauce and tea. And more chat, chat, chat.

11 pm: This girl, I will miss her so!

Midnight: Bedtime.

a photo an hour

- as seen through my iPhone and VSCO Cam app on Saturday June 14.

8 am: Saturdays are my early morning during weekends. This morning started ca 7:30 am, but it was no good night. Sara woke up several times because of nightmares.

9 am: She has gotten more into coloring and drawing than before.

10 am: Making coffee for Sølve and preparing his 10 am wake up call.

11 am: Sara and Bamse (her teddy bear) are ready for breakfast.

Noon: "The men are sick. They need to go to the hospital."

1 pm: Waiting for Sølve to get ready so we can head to the city.

2 pm: The city centre was super busy - there was so much going on. Our goal was the farmers market; we needed to stock up on jams from Steinstø

3 pm: We made our way through the crowds and did some grocery shopping on the way. Also fishcakes at Søstrene Hagelin and ice cream for Sara (she was so disappointed there was no red deer burgers to be found at the farmers market this time, so she needed a distraction).

4 pm: Walking, running, jumping and exploring our way home from.

5 pm: I deal with the groceries while Sara helps Sølve assemble the grill.

6 pm: And then Sara helps Sølve grind meat for tonight's burgers.

7 pm: Soon bed time for all the little kids in the neighborhood, so everyone helps tidy up the toys at the playground. (I will miss our neighborhood community SO much!)

8 pm: Sølve puts Sara to bed while I tidy some more and enjoy the very blue evening sky.

9 pm: Sølve is in charge of the grill while I make guacamole. Fresh coriander is a must!

10 pm: (Late) dinner time!

11 pm: Black Books, Gossip Girl and the season's first Norwegian strawberries.

Midnight: Good night!

a photo an hour

- as seen through my iPhone and VSCO Cam app on Thursday May 1, the International Workers' Day (so we all had the day off).

8 am: Making pour over coffee instead of my usual Nespresso. Sometimes a big cup of coffee is just a little bit more comforting than a small one.

9 am: Flipping through old Gourmet magazines whilst Sara plays with my old cap. Sølve is having a lie-in.

10 am: She loves eating leverpostei (liver paté) straight from the little box. Also, the summer dress from last year still fits. Win!

11 am: Sara and Sølve are off to hike up mount Ulriken whilst I work on my exam.

noon: laundry break

1 pm: today's work space - feels good being productive

2 pm: Made a tuna dip as a pre lunch snack. Wondering when Sara and Sølve will be home.

3 pm: They came home right after I set the table for a late lunch; tuna dip tartlets and broccoli soup (from the freezer) with homemade croutons plus strawberry, banana, melon smoothie.

4 pm: So excited about the UV bathing suit from last year (and so convenient that it still fits). She wore it for a long while, pretending to be at Mallorca (we are going there for our summer vacation).

5 pm: I needed a little break from exam writing, so I took Sara out in the garden whilst Sølve had a little nap. Carrying a 15 kg toddler up a mountain (that one in the photo there) is rather heavy work, even for a fit and sporty pappa. Also, naps are good.

6 pm: I'm back at my work space writing whilst Sara helps pappa prepare for oiling the teak window frames outside.

7 pm: supper time for Sara, snack time for mamma - those tuna dip tattles were yummy (I'll share the recipe soon)

8 pm: More exam writing whilst Sølve puts Sara to bed. It took nearly an hour before she fell asleep. This big girl bed transition is a bit tiring.

9 pm: dessert before dinner...

10 pm: late dinner with the husband; veal and quinoa salad

11 pm: He is really into his book whilst I do a bit of journaling. Off to bed before midnight. A little bit too late.
