Ricoh 35 EFL test roll, part I

Kodak Portra 400, Ricoh 35 EFL

A while ago I bought a camera - a Ricoh 35 EFL - at a flea market. I'm not at all into the technical side of cameras, so I had no idea if the camera worked until I shot a test roll with it. Turns out, the camera does indeed work, but it seems I need to learn how to work it. These are not my best shots, but they still tell a story. I finished the whole roll in one go shooting around the house. I'll post all the photos in the same order (more or less) that I shot them. Just for fun. PS: more one roll in one go posts

  1. I once decided to give an old family camera a chance. It was a olympus pen ees-2 (the one that does half frame), it had belonged to my father (who passed away when I was 9) and it was left behind for years. One day I decided to shoot a roll in it. The results were pretty much the same as yours. It turns out the shooter wasn't really working that well. I try to get it fixed, but it was too expensive, so I left as a decoration piece in my shelf. keeps reminding me of my papa and keeps me connected with him.

  2. This is what art is all about - experimenting. I love these, if not for the aesthetic, just for the story they tell.
