what's for dinner, week 26/2013 + a small change

guilty pleasures

Just like last year there will be a small change to the "what's for dinner" project for a few weeks:

Our summer holiday and the second part of Sølve's paternity leave (I'm still on maternity leave) has just started. There will be a lot of cooking and enjoying of good food, but I doubt that we will plan any meals ahead. We'll go with the spontaneous summer spirit and make what ever feels right in the moment - for the two of us, with family and friends. Consequently there will be no "what's for dinner" posts the following weeks, but I do plan to continue to tell you what we actually had for dinner. Maybe there will be more dinner photos too. I'll do my best to still update on Mondays.

What we actually had for dinner last week:

Monday: whole grain spaghetti with sausage, onion, garlic, fresh parsley and Jarlsberg cheese + mixed lettuce, tomato and balsamic vinegar
Tuesday: spicy melon salad with coriander, pan fried chicken filet, rice and sweet chili sauce
Wednesday: roasted beetroot and barley salad with feta Grandiosa (frozen pizza) with extra cheese
Thursday: hamburgers roasted beetroot and barley salad with feta
Friday: salmon sashimi instant mashed potatoes and sausage
Saturday: first course: seafood soup (mussels, cockles, razor shells and cod), main course: grilled entrecote, roasted carrot and potato wedges and homemade béarnaise sauce, dessert: strawberries and vanilla ice cream
Sunday: Saturday leftovers

about this project

- every Monday I post the week's menu
- I also post what we actually had for dinner the passed week (because it is fun to see if we actually followed the plan)
- there might be links to recipes, but the menu will mostly just be basic ideas for the dinners - often just based on what ever is in our fridge, freezer and cupboards
- Saturday and Sunday dinners will often not be planned ahead because we have a habit of buying whatever looks good in the store when we are out grocery shopping Saturday morning

  1. Have a lovely summer holdiay! look forward to the foodie shots :) It's freezing here in Melbourne so maybe warm summery foodie photos? :)

  2. Have a beautiful holiday! I am like you when it comes to planning my meals. Saves time, money and fits into my super organized personality. :)

  3. I am wondering if you only make a meal per day! We make always lunch and dinner!

  4. In Germany they also only do lunch time and at dinner they eat normally some bread! It is the same in Norway?
