what's for dinner, week 22

Saturday dinner with the mr | iPhone photos processed with Afterlight, put together with PicFrame and texted with A Beautiful Mess

Monday: a salad inspired by the classic French bistro salad, which included lettuce, bacon and poached egg 
Tuesday: smoked salmon, cream cheese and arugula in tortilla + white beans, tomato and feta salad 
Wednesday: ratatouille (from the freezer) with pasta and shredded store bought grilled chicken 
Thursday: a salad made of roasted beetroot, feta, bacon and walnuts (inspired by this)
Friday: our 15th anniversary as a couple, so it will for sure be something delicious!

What we actually had for dinner last week:

Monday: whole grain pasta with onion, garlic, cheese and bacon
Tuesday: parsnip soup
Wednesday: my mum's homemade meatballs (from the freezer), boiled potatoes and gravy
Thursday: homemade ratatouille and sausage pizza (from the freezer) + a mixed salad
Friday: roasted salmon with fish & seafood spice mix (from Santa Maria) and a salad of mixed lettuce, red apple, red onion, avocado, walnuts and balsamic vinegar
Saturday: first course: mussels, second course: turbot, pan fried shitake mushrooms, sauce made from the mussel soup thingy, carrot and asparagus confit 
Sunday (with friends, in our garden): first course: our friend J's brilliant lobster salad, main course: grilled meat, marinated mushrooms, roasted potato wedges, spicy melon salad, aioli, dessert: our friends R and F's delicious homemade ice cream + my pavlova

about this project

- every Monday I post the week's menu
- I also post what we actually had for dinner the passed week (because it is fun to see if we actually followed the plan)
- there might be links to recipes, but the menu will mostly just be basic ideas for the dinners
- Saturday and Sunday dinners will often not be planned ahead because we have a habit of buying whatever looks good in the store when we are out grocery shopping Saturday morning
- each post will be illustrated with one of my food related photos, either from my archives or a new one

    Et lite tips om en god salat:

    Syltede rødbetter
    Salat, gjerne ruccola
    To kalde poteter (om det er rester fra en annen middag)
    Vinaigrette laget av sennep, majones, eddik, olje og litt sukker
    Ønsket mengde av alt, den blir alltid god! :)

    Ha en finfin uke!
