what's for dinner, week 7/2013

Monday and Wednesday dinners, week 6

Monday: stew with leftover meat from Saturday + potatoes, carrots, broccoli, red onion, mushrooms and rowan berry jelly on the side
Tuesday: baked salmon and a salad of mixed lettuce, apple, red onion, avocado and balsamic vinegar 
Wednesday: broccoli and kale soup
Thursday: skrei, spinach and chickpeas (side dish inspired by the recipe on page 34 in this Rema 1000 leaflet)
Friday: fresh shrimp sandwiches

What we actually had for dinner last week:

Monday: Sunday leftovers
Tuesday: Tuscan white bean soup
Wednesday: baked panfried skrei filets, roasted vegetables and a butter/cream/garlic/parsley sauce
Thursday: tortillas filled with homemade meatballs (from the freezer), guacamole and a mixed salad
Friday: a repeat of Wednesday's dinner
Saturday: grilled filet mignon and ratatouille
Sunday: roasted leg of lamb, boiled potatoes and carrots, roasted Brussel sprouts and gravy

- every Monday I post the week's menu
- I also post what we actually had for dinner the passed week (because it is fun to see if we actually followed the plan)
- there might be links to recipes, but the menu will mostly just be basic ideas for the dinners
- Saturday and Sunday dinners will often not be planned ahead because we have a habit of buying whatever looks good in the store when we are out grocery shopping Saturday morning
- each post will be illustrated with one of my food related photos, either from my archives or a new one
