May 31, 2005-2011

2005: We celebrated our 7 years anniversary in our old apartment.

2006: We celebrated our 8 years anniversary in our garden and Sølve proposed. He had built this bench a few days earlier and carved a heart on it. I sat on this bench, in beautiful evening sunlight, when he popped the question. You already know my answer ;-)

2007: We celebrated our 9 years anniversary at home with cheese and rosé.

2008: We celebrated our 10 years anniversary at home with Champagne, snacks, roses and diamonds (to wear for our wedding day August 9 the same year).

2009: Caption written on Flickr: How to celebrate 11 years of love. Shopping at the garden center, spend the whole day working in the garden in the bright, warm sun, champagne and dinner al fresco with candles. Bliss!

2010: We celebrated our 12 years anniversary with tulips from the garden and dinner with my sister (who stayed with us for a month doing research for her master thesis).

2011: We celebrated our 13 years anniversary with dinner out followed by sunset and dessert at home.

work

Here is some recent work I have done for my part time employer, the ad agency ASKO Reklame.

For AMFI Voss shopping center I...

...interviewed the manager about their new "manifest"...

...I took this portrait to illustrate the purpose of the manifest...

...and I interviewed and photographed the owners of the new Thai food grocery store.

For AMFI Stord shopping center I...

...sourced photos for this inspiration spread about springy outdoor life and I wrote the small text.

For Blomsterdalen senter I...

...asked four random people what they like best about summer...

...I borrowed products from each of the nine shops at the shopping center and made this summer inspiration spread together with photographer Gustaf Bratt...

...and finally I wrote about barbecuing.

the spring cleaning continues

The spring cleaning continues. I'm giving away these two chairs and a wardrobe to someone who can come to my place and pick it up. See the ads on Finn.no.

Lomocouple shoots film

Why do you shoot film, Guilardo and Ana?

We shoot film because it's the most original and natural form of photography.

Of course that the digital photography was a revolution for the media, and it is awesome to have the results instantly, in a lot of ways. But when you're shooting for the art of photography, the film in the unique result. The digital can simulate the film, but it's not the same thing.

We did shot a lot of digital photos before coming back to analog photography, and when we did, we fell in love for it again. The sensation of having that shot, at that specific time, with the specific camera, the specific lens, registered in that specific film, is unique. It's much more challenging. And when we got the results from the lab, and see that we got a great shot - what a sensation!

Shooting with film is an experience that everybody that really loves photography should have.

And please - HDR is not photography.

our garden

We had sun yesterday and it felt really good. Especially since the last couple of weeks have been so wet and windy it has felt like full on autumn. I haven't really been in the garden since the beginning of the month. Such a shame! Seems like the rain is doing good for the garden though. It's so lush and green out there now.

thanks + dinners

Thank you so much for all your sweet and kind wishes on my pregnancy yesterday. I really appreciate it. Naturally there will be a few baby related posts here on hei Astrid in the future, but it won't turn into a baby/mommy blog. I will still post about all the other things I care about too - like food.

I enjoyed doing The Dinner Project a lot. After I stopped doing it I kind of lost focus on dinners, especially after I got pregnant. I feel like I have hardly cooked at all, and if I've made anything I've made hot dogs - with ice cream for dessert. A huge hit for this pregnant lady. At one point I'll be inspired to get into the kitchen again. I hope.

Here are some recent (and not so recent) dinner highlights

- couscous salad with diced pan fried chicken filet with Santa Maria chili explosion spices, tomatoes, squash, leek, pomegranate and fresh coriander (inspired by this)

- roasted chicken with a spicy mango stuffing

- homemade pytt-i-panne with vossakorv

- red chicken curry (photo above) made with chicken filets, carrots, red and green bell pepper, onion, spring onion, cremini mushrooms, curry paste, coconut milk and fresh coriander

- my go to salmon pasta made with salmon filets, a store bought pasta sauce with cheese and herbs (this one), cream, green bell pepper, leek, store bought fresh spaghetti and freshly ground pepper (I should have added garlic, but forgot about it) (photo here)

By the way, The Dinner Project book is still available in my Blurb book store.

PS: I have made a new blogroll for pregnancy, baby, kids, motherhood and family related blogs and websites. You find it in the sidebar to the left.

artists' studios are open

Glasses and vases made at Beda's last weekend for my friend Chantal's hen do. The blue one with the red dot is mine.

Do you remember my posts about the artists at the dock at USF? This is just a quick note to let you know that their studios are open late tomorrow, Thursday May 26. Nattjazz has also just started, so USF is full of life these days.

Café Vienés shoots film

Why do you shoot film, Café Vienés?

First, because there is nothing more authentic to a film photography, without intervention, most natural. I do not like being manipulated photos are horrendous, I resent the use of Photoshop or other software to make "the perfect shot", the perfect photo is not in the photo manipulation or digital, is in the film photography

Second, because I like it. The moment you give the pictures you sent to reveal it feels wonderful, knows how to explain it is a feeling of pride in the mere fact of taking these photos, the effort to buy the film when some buy a card that allows them over 100 photos with your digital camera makes you feel proud to take the 36 photos with a single film, until you like those photos that you moved out or overexposed.
