giveaway

A while ago I mentioned that I was planning a new giveaway. For some reason it took me quite some time to get organized, but now I'm all set - just in time for Christmas.

In September I made a new Blurb book. It is called Smakfulle øyeblikk and is filled with photos of food taken with film.

Smakfulle øyeblikk

is Norwegian for tasty or tasteful moments.

I live for tasty moments. Breakfast, brunch, elevenses, lunch, dinner, supper, snack time, coffee break, cocktail hour – food and drinks makes me happy, so does cooking and entertaining.

All photos in this book are shot with 35 mm film and are copyright of me, Astrid Hagen Mykletun.

Smakfulle øyeblikk is 78 pages square format soft cover with standard paper. You can see a preview of the whole book here or below.

Smakfulle øyeblikk | Make Your Own Book

Enter this giveaway and get a chance to win a copy of this book. This is what you do:

Leave a comment and tell me what you like (or don't like) about visiting this blog.

I have asked you this narcissistic question before. Again I hope your answers will give me a hint of what I should keep doing (or maybe not keep doing) with this blog. Feel free to repeat your answer if you participated the last time ;-)

A winner will be picked at random in one week, on Saturday December 17 at ca noon CET+1.

  1. Hello Astrid.I love your blog because it's fulfilled of simple yet beautiful pictures of your every day life.It inspires me a lot.For example, I love your everyday photos, expecially the ones featuring your (or friend's) dinner table:the table is always set with grace, details, and so is the food (fish, etc..).It inspires me to cook better, to serve the food with more style, to set the table in a nicer way (for example with candles) even if still remaining a simple, creative person. That's why I love your blog:it spreads a lot of creativity!!Daniela

    Hei Astrid!

For ei flott bok du har laga! Det eg likar best med bloggen din er bileta du legg ut frå "veka som var". Det er so inspirerande å sjå kvardagsbilete, dei gjev meg glede over dei små tinga i livet. I tillegg tar du fantastisk fine bilete. Du får verkeleg fram alle dei tinga som gjer Bergen verdas finaste by :)

  5. For many years, I've had a philosophy that life is about beauty in the mundane moments. Your blog illustrates this perfectly. I never tire of seeing a photo of a spot in your home that I've seen before because there is some new element to see, some gem to discover, the light. You give me lots of beauty in the mundane.

  7. I love your blog, especially the every day stories! It´s so interesting to compare your life with mine: we got married in 2008, now the babies have arrived, I see you go for walks, meet friends, familiy, and all with you wonderful photos. There is a lot of personality in your blog!

  10. Hi Astrid! I have followed your blog for such a long time now and I like it better and better. I love the way you capture the moments in your life and I appreciate that you don't show too much here on the internet. It's nice to get tiny little impressions. I like the way your "new" flat turned out, and the best stories here on your blog are about Sara growing up in such a nice family. Keep on taking photos and blogging – I'm looking forward to seeing more. And I'd love to win your book, of course. Many greetings from Austria :)

  21. I like everything about your blog. It's always fun, inspiring and I especially like your appreciation of the everyday moments of life. I was a film photographer most of my life and then came digital, which I embraced. Your blog segment "……shoots film" has been a big influence in my decision to stock up on film.

    Happy Holidays,

  27. Hei Astrid! I love seeing the beautiful pictures of your blog, as they inspire me for seeing beauty in everyday life and to maybe add that flower or that candle in my own place to make it prettier yet simple!

Also congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Hope all is going very well with her and for you!

  28. i probably follow your flickr more than your blog, but as most other readers, i like the everyday life glimpse we're getting. i also like seeing bits of norway and the places you travel to. i love the story of how you made your dining room table, and like your 'things i like' (even though at the same time i'm very glad your blog is ad-free!)

  32. What I love about your blog is the same as what many others appreciate: the ordinary made extraordinary. Whether in film or print, you have a way of reminding us what joy there is in small daily life. As an American (permanently) living in the UK, I am far away from everyone and everything that matters to me. Your blog reminds me of the joy of spending time with loved ones, the deep comfort to be found in a small efforts to create a sense of plenty, and small beauties in the face of a world that sometimes seems hell-bent on quashing them. Thank you for helping us remember the importance of connection and the simple pleasures of daily life.

  35. what i like about visiting your blog? your giveaways ;-) and the neverending hope of finally being the lucky one to recieve one of your wonderful books :-)
i love visiting your blog for several reasons: the inspring pictures and stories, the insights in your life in norway, and many more things - but if i was to point out one particular thing i especially like than i'd say: the way you organize your blog, the regularity of recurring topics such as "everday stories" or "... on motherhood". i simply love this!

  36. Hi Astrid,
I love a lot of aspects to your blog. I love your everyday stories. I also enjoy your short interviews with people and their connection with film. Your pictures are always worth a second or even third view.

  37. I love about your blog, that it feels so homey and as if one would visit a friend. Might be because of your aesthetics, I can't really pinpoint it, I'm afraid.
It's very uplifting to come here and it somehow calms me down all at the same time. You show how to take a step back and enjoy the little things, I guess that's what it boils down to :).
Hehe, of course your friendly face here and there helps, too (it sincerely cheers me up). And I thought to see the progress of your new home and the things you did there were very inspiring to see...but that just as a side note, for I wanted to tell you that for quite a while now.
