Julia shoots film
Why do you shoot film, Julia?
I shoot film because it forces me to slow down and focus on what I am trying to capture. The mood, the lighting, the feeling, a particular detail. It forces me to really pay attention to what's in the entire frame of the shot and how everything looks before I press the shutter release. Because there is no screen to immediately check out the shot after I've taken it and try again and again.
The moment when I press the shutter release, and hold my breath for just a split-second. And hope for something magical. That moment is why I shoot film.
You can see more of Julia's film photos on Flickr.
