Some of you might remember my guest blogging over at Bloesem about a year ago, and some of you might even remember this post about furniture design students from Bergen National Academy of the Arts who exhibited their prototypes at Stockholm Furniture Fair. One of the students presented in that post, Ingunn Eikeland Bjørkelo, has now gotten her first piece of furniture in production. Droplet (pictured above) is now being produced by Swedish Offecct. I think it's a really handsome table!
The Droplet table illustrates a very nice interpretation of the ripple effect from a designer’s point of view, where the table has been inspired by the oceanfront of Bergen, Norway, with a tabletop shaped in a gentle wave formation reminiscent of the ripples created on water by a falling stone.
