Mariana shoots film
Why do you shoot film, Mariana?
I love the slow time and surprises you get when shooting film, I enjoy leaving a roll of film for months inside a camera and just forget about it. When you develep it, it's like a time machine, with droplets of your days, things you didn't even remember you saw, all together in the same piece of negative, like a storyboard. I also love that the noise and texture of the grains somehow distance you from the subject and how, just like the words of a good book, they create a space for your eyes to imagine and wander around the image without giving away reality.
You can see more of Mariana's film photos in this set on Flickr and on her blog.
