the real deal
This is a glimpse of photographer Siren Lauvdal's home, photographed by Erle Kyllingmark for a book called Norske interiører nå (Norwegian interiors now) published by Orion Forlag in 2007. The book is a presentation of 20 homes lived in by creative Norwegians. Non of the homes were styled before photographed. I like that! I tend to be a bit bored by the over-styled interiors in interior design magazines. I like seeing how people actually live - even if they live in a staged (yet pretty?) chaos. How about you?
You can read an interview (in Norwegian) with photographer Erle and writer/photographer Isabel Watson about the book here. Click here to see some more interiors from the book.
Speaking of Norske interiører nå; I really recommend this article (in Norwegian) in Prosa 05/07 by Kjetil Rolness (who I'm a big fan of).
